Cookie Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
We use very few cookies and none of them for advertising. There is no third-party tracking network on this site, no advertising pixel, and nothing that follows you elsewhere on the web. This page names every cookie we set and what it is for.
What a cookie is
A small text file stored by your browser so a website can remember something between page loads. Without them you would be signed out on every click. We also use your browser's local and session storage for a couple of small conveniences, which are described below alongside the cookies.
Essential — the site cannot work without these
These cannot be switched off, because switching them off means being unable to sign in:
Session cookie
Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Set when you sign in, removed when you sign out. Without it, every page would ask you to authenticate again.
CSRF token
A short-lived value that proves a form submission came from this site. It is what stops another website from performing actions on your account while you are signed in.
Checkout selection
Session storage, not a cookie. Holds the plan you configured on the way to checkout, so the choice is not carried in the address bar. Cleared when the tab closes.
Referral
One cookie, and the only one on this site with any commercial consequence — so it gets its own section:
errorx_ref
- Set only when you arrive through someone’s referral link, and never otherwise
- It holds that person’s public share code — the same code they were given to share, and nothing else
- It is deliberately readable by the page rather than server-only, because it carries no private information
- It is read once, when you create an account, to attribute the referral. After that it does nothing
- Referral rules are always re-checked on our server; the cookie cannot grant anything by itself
- You can delete it in your browser settings at any time, with no effect other than losing the attribution
Preferences
Theme
Remembers whether you chose light, dark or system appearance. Stored locally in your browser and never sent to us.
Dismissed notices
Remembers which announcement banners you have closed, so the same one does not reappear on every page.
Analytics
We collect aggregate performance and traffic data for this website — which pages are visited, how quickly they load, roughly where visitors are. It is used to find slow pages and broken journeys.
Third parties
A few cookies may be set by services we necessarily rely on:
- Your sign-in provider — Google, Facebook or Discord — during authentication
- bKash or PayStation while you are on their checkout page completing a payment
- Our hosting provider, for load balancing and performance measurement
Managing them
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in — everything else can be cleared with no consequence beyond losing a preference or a referral attribution.
