The five most common fixes

Most tickets are one of these. Each answer is the actual reason, not a guess — so you can tell straight away whether it applies to you.

"Device limit reached" when I press Start

Your plan's slots are all held by devices that are online right now. Press Stop on another device, or disconnect it from Dashboard → Subscription, then try again. The message names which devices are holding the slots.

Windows asks for administrator the first time

Once, to register the ErrorXHelperService. That helper is what opens the network adapter, so the app itself never has to run elevated afterwards. Approve it and you will not see the prompt again.

macOS or Linux asks for a password after every update

Expected. The core binary needs a permission bit to create a tunnel interface, and a freshly updated binary does not have it yet. One prompt per update, nothing is installed system-wide.

Android disconnects when the screen is off

Your phone's battery manager is freezing the app. Exempt ErrorX from battery optimisation — on Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Samsung this is usually a separate "autostart" or "protected apps" toggle as well.

Signing in from the browser does nothing on Linux

A known limitation: the sign-in link cannot reach an ErrorX window that is already open. Quit the app completely, then click the link again and it will start and sign in.

Four steps, about five minutes. You do not activate a key, paste a config, or pick a server — the app handles all of that once you are signed in.

The ErrorX app does not have an iOS build. Use ProxyBD instead — same network, billed separately.

Pick a plan
Choose how long, how fast and how many devices. Every plan has unlimited data — the only limits are speed and device count.

Install the app
Windows, macOS, Linux and Android builds are on the download page. On iPhone and iPad, use ProxyBD instead.

Sign in
The app opens your browser, you sign in with Google, Facebook or Discord, and it hands you back to the app. No password to remember.

Press Start
The app pulls your config, claims one of your device slots and brings the tunnel up. Desktop asks for admin once, the first time.
